My Master's dissertation was a research project concerning ministries and religious services provided for people who
are Deaf and use American Sign Language as their main means of communication. This included a study of the types of
churches and denominations that Deaf people are most likely to attend and why. I examined the theological perspectives
of Deaf people as it relates to ASL. And the differences between interpreted services and services and ministries
provided in American Sign Language, ie: Deaf Churches. My research incorporated the history of Deaf ministries and

2. how that effort lead to development of Deaf Education in American. I also examined in part, the linguistic differences
between English and ASL. The majority of my research was done at Galluadet University in Washington DC, the only
liberal arts university for the Deaf.
