industry. Managing 107 magazines worldwide
as well as multiple TV and radio stations, and
earning about €2.3bn in 2013, it is part of
“Europe’s largest privately owned publishing
Group” (Bauer Media). In total, Bauer Media
Group sells over 300 magazines.
While the group’s headquarters is in Hamburg,
Germany, Bauer Media itself is based in the
UK.
6. ‘Q’ MAGAZINE
Acquired by Bauer in 2008, and perhaps the most well-known
of the magazines which Bauer has published, is ‘Q’
magazine, which focuses on indie, rock and alternative
music. ‘Q’ has since been expanded from a monthly music
magazine to ‘Q Radio’ and ‘Q TV’, spanning multiple media.
‘Q TV’ closed in July 2012.

8. ‘KERRANG!’ MAGAZINE
Unlike ‘Q’, ‘Kerrang!’ is a weekly magazine devoted to rock
music. Also in 2008, ‘KERRANG!’ was sold to Bauer Media by
EMAP.
‘Kerrang! Radio’ and ‘Kerrang! TV’ were launched in 2000 and
2001 respectively.
