• Less serious in nature
• Usually someone trying to gain a small advantage by the breach of
a rule
• There are 21 types of minor fouls
• The most common minor fouls are explained, but read up on
the others in the Rulebook!

4. Introduction
Minor fouls
• Examples:
• Covering a ground ball so it prevents an opponent from make
a legal play on the ball
• Empty Crosse Check: checking an opponent’s stick while they
are trying to gain possession of the ball, and thus failing to do
• Deliberately touching the ball with their hands or any part of
their body
• Having improper or illegal equipment
• Goal circle violations by the attacking team
• Intentionally delaying the game (to restart)

5. Introduction
Set up after a minor
• Outside the 15 m marking area:
• Ball awarded to the other team on the spot of the foul
• The offender moves 4 meter next to the ball
• Inside the 15m marking area:
• Ball awarded to the other team on the MA line at a spot
nearest to and in line with the foul
• The offender moves 4m to the side
• All other players 4m away, the MA is not cleared
• If the goalie was fouled by the attack while being inside the goal
circle, the ball starts inside the goal circle
