– Common features are that they are all either comics
or graphic novels. They all also have similar usage of
colour and art style.

within your on work?
– I will incorporate the dark moody colours of graphic
novels like Alena and Tomie into my work. I will also
draw inspiration from the dark narratives and horror
themes in works like Tomie and Akira.

• How will your product appeal to this audience: I should make the
product appeal to both genders, however the designs and story
may incorporate a masculine feel with dark colours, sharp lines and

with the exception of some adults.

comics, or haven’t found any they like.

welcoming to new readers, keeping it light enough anyone can pick it up
and read, but still interesting enough for regular readers.

• Observation: My audience has a very mixed preference of genre. Horror, fantasy
and comedy are both the most liked genres out of all the results.
• What this says about my audience: My audience has mixed likes and preferences,
but appears to like horror, comedy, and fantasy the most.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: Though my product will mainly be
horror and comedy, I will incorporate some elements from the fantasy genre into
the product.

audience by using mostly darker muted colours that are accented
by vibrant colours, making them stand out more.
