Psalm 121:5 NLT
“The LORD himself watches over you! The
LORD stands beside you as your

The Israelites suffered terribly as slaves of the Pharaoh. Many slaves were house
servants, gardeners, farm labor, musicians and dancers of excellent talent, scribes (those that

ordered a terrible punishment - all the first-born male babies of the Israelites were to be killed.
Pharaoh gave orders to the midwives that 'Every son that is born you, shall cast into the

Amram is the husband of Jochebed and father of Aaron, Moses and Miriam.
Moses' mother, Jochebed (JOK-uh-bed), and his sister, Miriam (both named in Numbers 26:59),
hid the baby for three months. When they could hide him no longer, Jochebed sealed a reed
basket with black tar and hid Moses among the reeds in the Nile River. Miriam stood watch.
Thermuthis
Pharaoh's daughter discovered the baby floating in the river. She took pity on the baby, whom she

had no children of her own, she decided to bring the baby up herself. She called him Moses.
