Test Security Test booklets, answer documents, and other secure materials must NEVER be left in open areas or supervised! Test booklets, answer documents, and Rough Draft booklets have security numbers on the back covers, which are used to inventory and track individual documents. Security numbers on the answer documents do not match those on the Rough Draft booklets or the test booklets. 2
Secure Test Materials Secure test materials include:	 LEAP, and GEE Rough Draft booklets for English Language Arts, Writing (Phase 1) Answer documents (Phase 1 and 2) Test booklets (Phase 2) Grade 4 LEAP science task sheets (Phase 2) Any other materials or electronic formats that contain test items or student responses All secure materials must be returned to Jennifer each day when testing is completed. During breaks, keep the material with you. Supervision requires a person trained in test security. 3
Violations of Test Security Administer tests in a manner that is inconsistent with the administrative instructions provided by the LDE  Give examinees access to test questions prior to testing Examine any tests item at any time (except those providing accommodations) At any time copy, reproduce, store electronically, discuss, or use in a manner inconsistent with test regulations all or part of any secure test booklet, answer document, or supplementary secure materials Coach examinees in any manner during testing or alter or interfere with examinees’ responses in any manner 4
Provide answers to students in any manner during the test, including provision of cues, clues, hints, and/or actual answers in any form Administer published parallel, previously administered, or current forms of any statewide assessment as a practice test or study guide – does not include LDE released test items Fail to follow security regulations for distribution and return of secure test booklets, answer documents, supplementary secure materials, as well as overages as directed; or fail to account for and secure test materials before, during or after testing. Fail to report any testing irregularities to Jennifer Participate in, direct, aid, counsel, assist in, encourage, or fail to report any of the acts prohibited in this section 5
Oaths of Security Test administrators, proctors, principals, and School Test Coordinators are required to sign Test Administrator and Proctor Oat of Security and Confidentiality Statements after testing is completed assuring that security and test administration procedures were followed. These will be provided for you on the last day of testing. 6
Test Administration Manuals	 Test administrators must receive and review Test Administration Manuals before the test to become familiar with directions for correct administration. No one is to have the opportunity to view any test item at any time except students during the test and test administrators providing accommodations. 7
Erasure Analysis Student answer documents will be scanned for excessive wrong-to-right erasures. If a student answers in the wrong place, please submit a report at the end of the day of testing explaining the situation. 8
Reporting of Irregularities (R.S. 17:81.6)  Allows public school employees to report irregularities or improprieties in the administration of standardized tests directly to LDOE who can investigate the allegations Misdemeanor offenses: Obstructing reporting Retaliating against an employee who participates in an investigation or reports an irregularity Submitting a false report 9
Monitoring by State During Testing Monitor’s Role Observing testing Documenting observations Notifying LDOE of issues requiring immediate attention NOT Monitor’s Role Assisting in testing including supervision of students or materials Answering questions regarding testing Providing immediate feedback to schools 10
Major Types of Administrative Errors in 2010  Cueing students during testing or providing assistance in answering questions Providing study materials prior to testing that included actual test items  Students were not provided accommodations or the appropriate accommodations. Test administrator read aloud the Reading and Responding session to students with the accommodation Tests Read Aloud. Students were not provided a Mathematics Reference Sheet or calculator.  11
Special Populations Issues Alltest administrators, proctors, monitors, and interpreters MUST be trained in test security and administration. Reading aloud or signing the following tests = VOID. LEAP/GEE/LAA 2 ELA: Reading and Responding iLEAP ELA: Reading, part 2 ELDA: Reading test EOC English II: questions linked with reading passages (specified in test) Small group requirements Maximum of 8 Careful monitoring: Testing irregularities, such as students sharing answers resulting in voiding of tests, continue to happen. May test students with IEPs and students with Section 504 plans in the same group 12
Accommodations Issues Transferred Answers: Student writes or types responses and TA transfers to answer document. ,[object Object]
Testing companies will not transfer responses
Any materials containing student responses other than the scorable answer document or large print test booklet must be kept by the STC in a locked, secure area until test scores are returned.
Papers must not be attached to answer documents.

  • 15. Any materials containing student responses other than the scorable answer document or large print test booklet must be kept by the STC in a locked, secure area until test scores are returned.

Administrative Error: If materials with responses are found after answer documents are returned, the district may pay DRC to return test booklet and answer document to district for responses to be transferred.
