Your Challenge

    1. Your enterprise ontologies and
       taxonomies are valuable company assets
that require to be managed according to
       your SharePoint strategy.
    2. Your SharePoint information architecture
       is not consistent.
    3. Your Big Data- and Semantic Web-tools
generate insights that are important for
       your SharePoint users.

Your Solution: GRASP for SharePoint

    Use GRASP to:
    1. Manage ontologies centrally in
       SharePoint to ensure preservation and
       compliance with the ECM-strategy of
       your company.
    2. Use standard ontologies and taxonomies
for tagging and as column values.
    3. Give business users access to semantic
       data by introducing SPARQL-capabilities
       into SharePoint.

GRASP Feature Presentation

    1. Ontology management

    2. Taxonomy management: populate a term
       store with a standard taxonomy/ontology
that is used for tagging and query
       formulation.

    3. Question answering: use SPARQL-queries to
visualize semantic data in web parts or to
       process in SharePoint-lists

    4. Installation and Configuration

Ontology Management

    • Upload ontologies into the ontology library in the most
      common syntaxes.
    • Grant access to ontologies according to your security
      policies.
    • Inspect metadata about ontologies that is extracted
      automatically and stored in SharePoint.
    • Manage versions of ontologies and create local revisions
(GRASP is compatible with common ontology editors, e.g.
      Protégé or NeOn Toolkit)
    • Process the semantic data contained in a managed
ontology by uploading it into an RDF-store (GRASP is
compatible with Triplestore basic, Virtuoso Universal Server,
      Topbraid live)

Taxonomy Management
    • Identify a suitable standard taxonomy/ontology (in SKOS-format)
and upload it into the GRASP ontology library.

    • Populate a term store and make the terms available for tagging,
          retrieval and query answering.

    • Create queries for terms to retrieve further information about the
term from the Web of Data.

    • Export the content of the term store, e.g. a single term set into the
open SKOS format, e.g. for backup purposes or for disseminating it
from one SharePoint installation to another one.

Query formulation
    • Formulate queries to extract information that is contained in
uploaded ontologies or in the “Web of Data” (GRASP supports the
          SPARQL 1.1 query language)

    • GRASP propagates queries to the attached RDF-store or any other
external RDF-store that is SPARQL 1.1 compliant.

    • Information from different RDF-stores can be integrated in a single
query to integrate information from heterogeneous sources.

    • Query results are made available in

            1. Web parts or as

            2. SharePoint-lists

    • A SharePoint-based wizard translates SPARQL-queries into external
content-types: query results are automatically translated into
          SharePoint-list.

          • SPARQL endpoints

  • 2. Your Challenge 1. Your enterprise ontologies and taxonomies are valuable company assets that require to be managed according to your SharePoint strategy. 2. Your SharePoint information architecture is not consistent. 3. Your Big Data- and Semantic Web-tools generate insights that are important for your SharePoint users. GRASP Product Presentation © 2013 DIQA Projektmanagement GmbH | www.diqa-pm.com | Slide 2
  • 3. Your Solution: GRASP for SharePoint Use GRASP to: 1. Manage ontologies centrally in SharePoint to ensure preservation and compliance with the ECM-strategy of your company. 2. Use standard ontologies and taxonomies for tagging and as column values. 3. Give business users access to semantic data by introducing SPARQL-capabilities into SharePoint. GRASP Product Presentation © 2013 DIQA Projektmanagement GmbH | www.diqa-pm.com | Slide 3
  • 4. GRASP Feature Presentation 1. Ontology management 2. Taxonomy management: populate a term store with a standard taxonomy/ontology that is used for tagging and query formulation. 3. Question answering: use SPARQL-queries to visualize semantic data in web parts or to process in SharePoint-lists 4. Ontology Management • Upload ontologies into the ontology library in the most common syntaxes. • Grant access to ontologies according to your security policies. • Inspect metadata about ontologies that is extracted automatically and stored in SharePoint. • Manage versions of ontologies and create local revisions (GRASP is compatible with common ontology editors, e.g. Protégé or NeOn Toolkit) • Process the semantic data contained in a managed ontology by uploading it into an RDF-store (GRASP is compatible with Triplestore basic, Virtuoso Universal Server, Topbraid live) GRASP Product Presentation © 2013 DIQA Projektmanagement GmbH | www.diqa-pm.com | Slide 5

  • 10. Taxonomy Management • Identify a suitable standard taxonomy/ontology (in SKOS-format) and upload it into the GRASP ontology library. • Populate a term store and make the terms available for tagging, retrieval and query answering. • Create queries for terms to retrieve further information about the term from the Web of Data. • Export the content of the term store, e.g. a single term set into the open SKOS format, e.g. for backup purposes or for disseminating it from one SharePoint installation to another one. • 16. Query formulation • Formulate queries to extract information that is contained in uploaded ontologies or in the “Web of Data” (GRASP supports the SPARQL 1.1 query language) • GRASP propagates queries to the attached RDF-store or any other external RDF-store that is SPARQL 1.1 compliant. • Information from different RDF-stores can be integrated in a single query to integrate information from heterogeneous sources. • Query results are made available in 1. Web parts or as 2. SharePoint-lists • A SharePoint-based wizard translates SPARQL-queries into external content-types: query results are automatically translated into SharePoint-list.
