2. WHAT IS INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN?
• Instructional design is the creation of learning experiences and materials in a
manner that results in the achievement and application of knowledge and skills. The
discipline follows a system of assessing needs, designing a process, developing
materials and evaluating it’s effectiveness.
3. ADDIE MODEL
• The Addie Model is the God Father of Instructional Design . Addie has been around
since the 70’s and many people has used this model as a framework in designing
and creating training programs. Addie is one of the most used model and it stands

4. DICK AND CAREY MODEL
• The Dick and Carey is also know as the Systems Approach model. Created by Walter
Dick Lou Carey and James Carey and its mostly used in the educational
environments. Dick and Carey Model has ten steps that most instructors identify
with.

• Changes can be implemented easily throughout the model layout

Every step is beneficial so each step needs to be
fulfilled in order for the D&C model to be successful

9. CONCLUSION
• Addie and the Dick and Carey are two important models in the ID world. These
models has helped shaped and mode the way instructors view learning. It has
provided learning with a more clear concise way to meet learning objectives, and
although they may have many differences they both share a common goal to help
provide the best experience for an instructor and a learner.
