This document discusses how one college in Australia introduced iPads and ebooks to promote literacy. It notes that digital natives now expect to engage with books interactively instead of traditional print. The results so far have included previously reluctant readers becoming engaged with interactive ebooks, students actively enjoying independent reading time and seeking out new ebooks through the app store. Teachers have access to hundreds of sites and tools to support using technology in teaching, and taking risks with technology while giving students ownership and choice has led to creation over just consumption.
