FEN is a network of ins0tu0ons and individuals ac0ve in foresight in Europe. It
con0nues from far-reaching previous ac0vi0es, e.g. the Regional Foresight Collége and
the European Millennium Project Nodes Ini0a0ve EuMPI (in past years led by Philippe
DestaHe and Ibon Zugas0). Many members are from Nodes of the Millennium Project
in Europe (but not all - we are encouraging members beyond this circle). We are
currently approx. 150 members from a variety of countries. FEN currently led by its
president Anna Sacio-Szymańska and vice president Epaminondas Christophilopoulos
and Cornelia Daheim.
The aim of the network is to advance foresight in Europe. We do so:
• by enabling connec0ons between prac00oners in our two mee0ngs per year,
• by furthering and crea0ng projects between our members,
• with ac0vi0es showcasing foresight at conferences and events,
• and via publica0ons.

About The Foresight Europe Network
Project on building systematic connections to other networks
7. 7
Why build connections to other networks?
The background: From recent FEN strategy / aims
definitions:
The aim of FEN is to advance foresight in Europe. We
do so:
• by enabling connections between practitioners in our
two meetings per year (and via the email-list),
• by furthering and creating projects between our
members,
• with activities showcasing foresight at conferences
and events,
• and via publications.
7
Members can benefit from more connections to other
networks by:
• Being aware of the other networks in the field
• Information about conferences, events and other
activities
• Information about publications
• Ideally, synergy e.g. via cooperative events / activities
with those networks
8. 8
The concept of building systematic connections
Agreement between FEN & other network (LOI / “Memorandum of Cooperation”)
Two ambasadors = 2 People, one from FEN, one from the other network : Act as “channel” for sharing info and upcoming
questions, are the main „connection points“
One member from FEN
One member from the
other network
Both:
share key info on the activities from the respective other networks with their network
regularly
and are the first point of contact
