EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT & VOTER BEHAVIOR
Ryan H. King

Department of Political Science
ABSTRACT
Voter behavior continues to allude and challenge political scientists. Election results remain the
primary concern for the general public and political parties. However, researchers focus on the
causes of voting and the implications of various factors including age, sex, party identification,
political advertising, issues such as climate change, ideology and education. The following
research design provides an empirical and categorical investigation of the causes of voter turnout
in primary elections. The hypotheses applied to the research:
H1: As an individual obtains a higher educational attainment, the likelihood of he or she
voting in the primary election increases.
H0: The likelihood of voting in primaries does not increase with the obtainment of higher
education.
The research design applies the bivariate, simple regression, and multiple regression tests
to determine the relationship between education attainment and voter turnout in primary
elections.

Film Proposal
Minos & Agamemnon – The Forgotten Kings
Countless documentaries exist on ancient cultures exploring the original settlements of
Mesopotamia and the Fertile Crescent to the rise of the Greek city-states and the Roman
Empire. Various producers have even attempted to recreate and visualize the Trojan War in the
Homeric style; however, they failed. CGI effects and convoluted plot structures did not impress
historians or the critics. Ultimately, a modern motion picture featuring the Minoans or
Mycenaeans is nonexistent. The enclosed film proposal seeks to rectify errors of previous titles
and present a humanized story of the fall of the Minoans and King Minos, and the rise of King
Agamemnon and the Mycenaeans.
LOGLINE: An epic historical tale filled with Greek mythology following the fall of one great
Bronze Age culture and its ruler, the rise of the last great Bronze Age culture; and the rise and
fall of its leader following the Trojan War.
COMMENTS & NOTES: The lack of historical accuracy remains a common flaw among popular
titles concerning Greek & Roman culture such as Gladiator, Troy, and 300. The proposed film
will highlight several important historical/mythological events in a chronological and logical
order. However, I intend to add a few scenes with no historical accuracy to add to the
production and entertainment values; nevertheless, these scenes shall not alter the historical
nature or credibility of the overall film significantly.
