1. What’s new in Screenflow v3.0.
This is not a question, it’s a statement of what is to come.

3. Now that we’ve gotten rid of all the schmucks who refuse to read...
Screenflow was really
good before. Now it’s
even better bestest.
Oh if you don’t even know what screenflow
is then you can probably say it’s a
“screencasting program for the Mac”.
That description is really not doing it justice,
but we can talk about that later.

4. Freehand Callouts allow you to
select an area of your recording
and do funky things with it.
You can enlarge it of course,
but also add a shadow, dim the
background, blur an area,
zoom up, add a border etc.
Before you could only do this
where your mouse was on the
screen. Now you can select
ANY place on your video.

5. Holy internet Batman, they’ve even
added Annotations!
The annotation feature
allows the user to add
graphics on-the-fly during
production.
The graphics could be
arrows, boxes, lines and
circles. Great for directing
attention.

6. New media holder
flexibility
All of the files you bring into
a screenflow project are
represented by icons in the
media holder area. It’s the
last tab on Media and Effects
Panel.
In v3.0 you can now preview
that content in the media
holder, before bringing it into
a screenflow project.
You can also resize all of the
icons there to allow for more
flexible scrolling options.

7. Now you too can sound like
Pope Benedict.
Screenflow added a few really handy audio features
including the ability to make your track sound like
you were speaking in a cathedral.
If you feel somewhat humbled by sounding papal,
there are other “room” choices too including
bandpass, large hall, large chamber, presence, and
small room with equalizer.

8. iZotope
develops professional
audio technology for a variety
of recording and editing
programs.
Screenflow has licensed their noise
reduction technology so that now, with the
check of a radio box, you can apply the
iZotope filter to your audio track.
Background noises such as humming
appliances, ticking clocks, cooling fans
etc. can effectively be reduced with this
feature.
I wonder if it can take care of my late-night
partying neighbour?

9. Skipdiddydodah!!
h
Sweetness in the timeline now as the switc
you can now easily rearrange the
track layers using the far left
“handles”.
That’s not all with the timeline as you can
also resize the height of a track choosing
between small, regular and large.
What both of these features provide
together is a much better workspace for
power users of screenflow.
If you often end up with many layers and
complex screencasts, you’ll love the new
timeline in screenflow v3.0.

10. Wait. Is there another
video site besides
Youtube?
Youtube is huge. We all know that.
However Vimeo is a video site that has
emerged with it’s own unique group of
followers that includes free and paid
options for HD video.
Vimeo PRO allows for much more
configuration options and full throttle
analytics geared towards small business.
I like the controls better on Vimeo too.

11. That’s about it.
A few other things are new in Screenflow 3, but not worth large size fonts.
