Striving towards ensuring all citizens, regardless of

affordable and healthy food to meet their needs and

values and priorities for a healthy and self-reliant food
system.
What is a Food Charter?
10. To bring people together to talk about and work on
local food system and food security challenges.
Cities with a Food Charter already established include;
Vancouver, Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Thunder Bay,
Kingston, Toronto and Ottawa.

ensuring food security by paving the way for
municipal Food Charters in Manitoba.
