JUMP THE WALL

The goal of the This Project is to provide the client
IED Barcelona with a communication an collaboration
tool, that will allow Alumni, Ex-Alumni, Teachers and
Companies to get together in one same space on or
offline to develop projects, while studying or after
their studies being in various locations around the
world.

Scenario

She is currently living in Barcelona doing her Masters
in Design Management at IED.

She only has 1 more month of class left...

Amanda’s stress levels are somewhat high.

She is working on her final project, as well as
attending classes and planning her future.

Amanda loves barcelona so much she has decided to stay
and find an internship with a local company.

A professor mentioned she should get in touch with an ex-student.
So she e-mailed him ...

... but to her disappointment she never received a reply.

Her e-mail landed in his spam.

Unfortunately now she had to look into other internship opportunities.

Amanda is interning for Smart Design in BCN.

Along with her internship she is also in the process
of developing her thesis.

She bumped into an ex professor on the street,
they started talking about her thesis.

It turns out that last year the professor was working
on a similar concept that never reached the market.

Amanda saw an opportunity to make her thesis real
along side her ex-professor.

She contacts him via Facebook.

They meet and Amanda gives him her proposal.

One of Amanda’s classmates Martina
is currently interning in New York.

Martina and Amanda work
extremely well together.

Amanda invites Martina to take part in her thesis development.

All is going fine for Amanda, her professor and Martina
until they begin to communicate.

They use multiple communication channels,
but there is no flow in the communication.

The project only truly benefits when Martina is visiting
barcelona for three weeks.

Amanda has been out of the design management classroom
for more then 4 months now.

The DM family has been communicating via Facebook and
occasionally via Skype messenger.

Although most of the communication has been helping
each other with their thesis projects.

Amanda is feeling sad.
She dearly misses her DM family.
