1. The American Sewing Guild of the
Hudson Valley sews with a purpose.
Andrea Diamond and her Hudson Valley
quilting colleague’s from the American
Sewing Guild (www.asg.org) have
graciously embarked upon the challenge
of making and donating a double sized
quilt, 73×85. It nicely covers a queen
sized mattress!
“This is a huge endeavor, but once we caught the vision of creating for the cause of
Leukemia, we decided to go for the wow. We could have gone for a smaller or less
complicated pattern, but after conversations with campaign director Melody
Mordock, we felt inspired to contribute our time and talents to the max. Many of us
have had, or have known of those in the throes of this debilitating disease and
wanted to make a difference”, says Andrea.
To quilt will be on display at the Quilt Basket and raffle tickets can be obtained at:

Our gratitude to Cathy Anderson, the shop owner, has generously donated the quilt
backing. The finished quilt will be on display at her shop and raffle tickets can also
be obtained, proceeds donated on behalf of Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
