• Market Sentiment- Market sentiment is the general prevailing attitude of investors
as to anticipated price development in a market. This attitude is the accumulation of
a variety of fundamental and technical factors, including price history, economic
reports, seasonal factors, and national and world events.
• Charles Dow created the first market sentiment indicator. (Dow Jones Industrial
average).
• S&P 500 is also a good market indicator for sentiment.
• Market Fundamentals- An assessment of economic growth, sustainability of
economic growth, and confidence in government and central banks to keep the
economy on a sustainable growth path.
• When all these things line up we get bull markets.

WHAT YOU SEE: MARKET SENTIMENT
• When looking for overall market
sentiment you should think beyond the
chart.
• Monitor investors at all time, you don’t
want to get caught buying at the end of a
ride.
• You will know once everyone has
discovered the bandwagon that the trend
is most likely over.
• Remember, everyday is a battle between
the Bulls and the Bears. Our job is to be
on the winning side.

TRADE WHAT YOU SEE: VOLUME
• Volume- is the amount of shares or
contracts of a security being traded during a
specific time frame.
• It is the most powerful confirming indicator
of price action. Confirmation is key for any
trade you make.
• When you see price action accompanied by
volume, it means buyers are demanding the
security at a even higher price. Vice versa if
the security is moving downward
• Volume is directly correlated with demand.
• If you see a price change not with
accompanying volume you can assume this
is an aberration.

WHAT YOU SEE: BUY THE RUMOR, SELL
THE NEWS
• “Buy the rumor, sell the news,” also
known as news trading.
• Use scheduled announcements to take
up positions that profit from short-term
volatility.
• You can also trade significant,
unplanned events that impact the
domestic or global economy.
• hold positions for a very short period of
time as the impact of news usually fades
quickly after being made public.

STOP-LOSS
• A stop-loss order is an order placed
with a broker to buy or sell a security
when it reaches a certain price.
• Once the stop price is met, the stop
order becomes a market order and is
executed at the next available
opportunity.
• We use stop-loss to protect our capital
and keep our losses to a minimum.

• Entry point refers to the price at which an

• A good entry point is often the first step in

existing position.
• Having an entry and exit point is the first
step to having a successful trading plan
while also managing risk.
• Profit goal- a price in which the security
