1. T gives a piece of butcher paper to each group and explains what a
Living Mind Map is.
2. Each group has to create their own Mind Map about the topic Hitting
the Road. The topic must be in the middle of the paper. SS begin writing
ideas from the previous activity on the map.
3. T reminds SS that, as it is a Living Mind Map, they will be completing it
during the whole unit. So, SS will be building a summary of the unit as
they are learning.

3. To introduce the topic of the conversation and with the books closed, in groups, SS play Who am I? SS have a name/image pinned to their head and they must guess who they are by questioning other students. Put a class list of questions on the board for easy reference. These
images are related to travel, for example: passports, trains, planes, luggage, hotels, etc.

4. T asks SS to tell the rest of the class what they know about each one of them, speaking in full sentences.
5. Then T tells SS to go to page 239. T tells SS that they are going to listen to the points.
6. To ensure that all SS understand, T encourages them to share and repeat their expressions in groups.

7. SS complete de Vocabulary Word Map with new words and put on the English corner.
8. SS choose 6 new words and write them on each side of the die (DR grammar dice). Then, SS throw the die and say a sentence with the word that they see.

4. SS discuss if there is any S who has chosen another picture.
5. In groups, SS complete the Sense Star. T plays the Track 33 again.
Activities
6. SS individually read all questions and answers before listening to Track 33 again.
7. T gives SS a sheet of paper. SS cut it in three pieces and write the letters a, b, and c on them or use Plickers Cards (https://plickers.com/)
8. T plays Track 33 again and waits one minute to review all answers before SS show the corresponding letter for each answer. APP CS

2. In groups, SS complete the crossword puzzle using a Pairs Check. This is a way to structure pairs to work on mastery-oriented worksheets. SS work in teams of four with two sets of partners. This way SS stay on task, working
together toward mastery.
3. SS individually write a sentence using the words.
4. T uses APP CS > Random Selector to choose a S APP CS > to write with the pencil some of their sentences.
Post-activities
5. SS individually write the words from the vocabulary list that rhyme.
6. T projects the correct words.
7. SS complete the T-Chart. On the 1st column, they write the words that are at the bottom of page 241 and on the 2nd column, they write the words that T projected.
8. SS pick up their T-chart and make Inside-Outside Circle.
* Pairs Check
Step 1: The first S completes the first word with the pair partner serving as coach.
Step 2: After find the first word, partners change roles.
Step 3: After each pair of words, teams of four check each others' work and, if they agree, give a team cheer or handshake.
* Inside-Outside Circle:
Step 1: SS stand in pairs in two concentric circles. Step 2: The inside circle faces out and has a piece of paper with words from the 1st column; the outside circle faces in and has a piece of paper with the words from the 2nd
column. Step 3: SS rotate to find a new partner. They stop when T says: Stop!
Step 4: Then, SS from the inside circle say a word from their column and their partner from the outside circle responds with a rhyming word from their paper.
