residential and commercial design and build company. Achieved
circa £4m new business in last 18months on predominantly new
build, refurbs and extensions – all sourced from cold. Tender
preparation; client negotiation and relationship building with A & D
community, specifiers, QS’s etc.. Also designed & produced
corporate brochures etc..
NB – I left the Companies because of unpaid commission and total
mis-job description and lack of future career progression. My career
has been uncharacteristically unsettled for a few years now due
to, initially, the recession and latterly my poor judgement and
belief in the promise of career progression and income that
would never happen with these employers.

Mar 2012 Handling private commissions including commercial interior
projects, home improvements and corporate sales and marketing advice on self employed
basis. Clients were predominantly high-end home improvements manufacturers and
dealer (including fitted furniture, interiors, double glazing etc.). Prep of business
strategies; business plans, recruitment & training of existing and new staff, marketing
materials and strategy etc..

Mar 2003 Full P&L responsibility for sales and administration components of
this leading regional fitted bedroom, bathroom and home office
manufacturer. Responsible for 13 showrooms and 26 staff; 2 sales
managers & 15+ designers plus office administration staff.
Additionally deputising for Managing Director when on leave.
Main Achievements
Increasing T/O from £6.1m to £8.7m. (overall responsible for
£10.5m+ T/O throughout operation including Contract
works)
Increasing G.P levels by 13% overall.
Complete corporate re-organisation and re-launch.

Responsible for all Direct B-2-C fitted furniture sales for two
consecutive regions; for between 12-21 Sales Designers and 8 – 12
Concessions/Showrooms within plus all in-store Demonstrator staff
(including the RDS). Turnover between the two regions varied
between £4-6M per region, this being up on previous post-holders on
T/O by +23% and margins between 3 – 5 %.
Jun 1989 – Group Sales Manager – The Irton Group (Desking Systems
Dec 1996 Limited)
Reporting to the Sales Director and Board. Responsible for sales
team of 32 and administration team of 14. National contract and
trade network negotiations, marketing, product development and
competitor monitoring. Budgetary control, staff training and
development. Recruitment and discipline. Devising and
implementing corporate and management strategies, production
liaison.
Main Achievements
Turn around of Ashgrove Zero (sub Company) from loss
making to T/O £3.5m (as National Sales Manager)
Winning Government and major contracts from £250k to
£1.15m.
Restructured group from predominantly direct to trade sales
to achieve increased profitability/sales, decreased costing and
re-profiled the company for the 90’s.
Promotion from NSM Ashgrove to GSM – Irton Group
within 8 months.
Overall responsible for £15 M + T/O and GP level increases
for the Group.
Jan 1987 - Senior Sales Executive – Project Office – Furniture PLC
May 1989 Responsible to Regional Sales Director for sales to corporate end-
users and Government bodies, to advise on planning and design for
clients’ requirements plus field training for junior sales staff.
Main Achievements
Turnaround of territory from static T/O £330k to T/O £650k
with increased profitability.
Promotion to Senior Sales Executive within 12 months.
Regained lost major national accounts.
