estimating and project

provided by architect. Through
the information, QS can
calculate the quantities of
materials needed to build.

degree or professional qualification from university or
college that is accredited by Royal Institude of Chartered
Surveyors(RICS) and for Malaysian, they must be a Malaysia,
holds a qualification in quantity surveying recognised by the
Board, passed the required elective subject (if required) and
fulfills any condition that are set up by Board of Quantity

• A contract law is legally binding
agreement between two parties
which includes specific details of the service provided, acceptance,
consideration (in terms of time quality and cost) and the objective
• Quantity surveyor makes 4 main contracts during the process
of a project. During the contract, the QS advice the client on
the type of project, quality, speed, risk and price certainly which
will be the most appropriate form of building procurement.
• The four main contracts are:

Keeps projects on time and budget
• Bill of Quantity is the type of drawing they use in order to
produce accurate and detailed tender documents
• Quantity surveyors use quantity surveying and
estimating software in order to make the BOQ smooth
and accurate
