2. Audience Profile
The age rating for my game will be aimed at
18+. I’ve aimed it for the older audience
because my game is based of a TV series that
is also rated 18, so I feel that the younger
audience won’t understand the characters or
the game plot. I’ve aimed it at anyone older
because I think anyone can play the game as
long as they’re 18 or over.
The gender I’m aiming it is mainly Men
because typically they play my type of
game more than women do, and I don’t
think Women will enjoy it as much as
Men.
I think my target
audience would be
working class, because of
the age range I’ve put on
the game then they’re
around the age where
they should be working.
The price of my game
wouldn’t be that
expensive either due to
the graphic design and
gameplay.
For my audiences interests, they have to like
fantasy and adventure games, that uses
swords and mythical creatures. I think selling it
to the audience with this interest will make it
popular among that group of audience.
They need to like old
pixel games, to like my
game as well. If they
like playing modern
games with modern
graphics where you
can free roam then it
isn’t really the game
for them, the need to
like old style games.
They also need to like
fantasy TV series because
the game is based of
Game of Thrones so they
would need to be fans of
that to play the game.
3. Style sheet
This is a ruff idea of what I
want my character to look
like, when I make it for my
production I’ll make him
turn sideways so he’s not
running facing the player.
The layout and design of the game, I
want to make it similar to Mario so I
would have a coin count in the
corner and you have to follow the
path along to get finish the level.
The setting of my game
I want it to be covered
in snow and it will take
place in a ice wall
For the coloring of my game I want to experiment with
different shades of blue to see which will give me a nice
icy color, most of the setting will be blue and white to
show it’s set in winter.
4. The aim of the game is to kill the zombies, in my
game they will be ice zombies, so they will be
green not blue. The further you get in the game
the harder the zombies are to kill so they’ll get
bigger and stronger.
Throughout the game they’ll be
swords hidden that you have to
use to kill the zombies, you
have to hit different bricks to
find a new sword.
For the background of my
game I was going to include
some trees covered in snow,
just so it doesn’t look too
plain.
For the menu of the game I
want my text to be similar
font to this.
5. Screenshot Layout 1
In my game I’m going to include a coin
count but instead of coins it’s going to be
daggers.
I’m going to try and make
the floor the character walks
on look like this, with this
shade of blue.
I will also include a point count, so
whenever the player kills a zombie
the points will increase.
6. Screenshot Layout 2
To collect new swords, to kill the zombies the
character needs to jump at brick and it will give them
a sword.
For my zombies I will make them
into ice zombies, to kill the big
ones it will take more hits than
the small zombies need to die.
7. Sound Effects/Dialogue
Sound Effects
Jumping sound effect- Use beat box to try and make a spring sound so it sounds like
the character is jumping.
Stabbing sound effects- Look on beat box and garage band to try and make a similar
sound to stabbing.
Skidding sound when walking on ice- Use garage band and use a shaker instrument or
something similar that can make that sound.
Dinging sound when character collects something- Use beat box and make a sound
that sounds like they’ve just won something.
Character death sound- Try either garage band of beat box and make a losing sound
Character winning sound- use either beat box or garage band to make a congratulate
sound.
Coin collecting sounds- Use beatbox and try and make a ‘cha Ching’ sound.
Zombie sounds- Look at garage band and try to find some sounds similar to zombies or
look on free sounds for it.
Level up sounds- Use beat box to try and create a sound that sounds like the character
is being levelled up.
8. Contingency Planning
Potential Issue Solution
My work doesn’t save and I lose all of it Double check I save my work every time I’ve
added something major to it.
I lose my memory stick that has all my work on
it
Save my work to more than one place instead
of just on my memory stick.
I don’t finish my work on time Try and complete the work on time and if not
then stay behind days to complete it
My computer breaks Save my work onto my memory stick so if that
happens I can use another computer.
Water could spill on my computer and I loose
my work
make sure not to drink water near the
computer and backup my work on my memory
stick.
9. Health and Safety
Potential Issue How will the issue be
avoided?
Water could spill onto the computer Don’t drink or place any water near the
computer in case it spills
Sitting in front of the screen for too long Take breaks so I’m not staring at a screen all
day
Someone could throw something and it could
smash the computer screen
Make sure no ones throwing anything across
the class
I could trip over the wires connected to my
computer
Look to see where the wires are and if they’re
in the way then move them.
My chair could break and I hurt myself Make sure the chair I’m sat on is secure and it
won’t break
