• The Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries show improved water quality
conditions. Growth of algae is greatly reduced. Pollution from bacteria is
greatly reduced. Higher oxygen concentrations are found from the surface to
the bottom of the water.
• Fish, crabs, oysters and other aquatic life have healthy conditions and occur in
greater numbers. 8
