General Description:-
This role is responsible for the strategic development of the Department Ocean Freight LCL, Product
management, sales directives and budget performance of the respective Department / Country.
Specific Accountabilities:-
• Support the definition and execution of the DB Schenker Ocean Freight Strategy on country level
• Ocean Freight strategy
o Support to work out, implement and co-ordinate the strategy of regional product management
ocean freight within framework given by PM Regional/Global
o Ensure economical success of the product under consideration and in alignment of the strategic
targets of the country organization
• Responsible for the market oriented development and enhancement of the ocean freight product. This
includes product support and improvement, but also development of new Trade lanes/Port – Port
Services
o Lead / support product innovations and implementations of new products
o Support the development of the product strategy
• Support achievement of all given qualitative and quantitative budget targets of PMO
• Continuously observe and follow up of the market development, competition and customers (quality,
volume, demand/supply, rate developments etc..) as base for the product development
• Provide market intelligence to the network
• Monitoring and ensuring operational excellence and proper execution of import/export of
shipment/container handling in day to day operations

Monitoring complete commercial documentation (pre-shipment and post-shipment) for export trade in
compliance with statutory regulations like Customs, Port, Central Excise and Foreign Trade Policy, Free Zone
Rules etc..
Shipping Operations
Scrutinising the orders received / documents related to dispatch of materials as per the commercial terms
& conditions; handling shipping operations.
Interfacing with C&F Agent, controlling the cost as per the budget and updating the stocks in hand &
outstanding of dealers.
Ensuring smooth clearance of consignment (Customs Port and Free Zone Authorities) with compliance to
import policies for import of raw materials.
Liaising with various authorities such as Customs, Port, Free Zone Authorities, Excise, Clearing Agents and
Banks.
Interfacing with clients, attending all clients’ queries and quoting rate to Clients.
3. Customer Service
Ensure timely completion of operations as agreed with the customers.
Investigate and analyze the reasons for time delays in completion of operations.
Ensure that documents related to all import and export shipments are accurately maintained.
Co-ordinate with the customs clearance department to ensure that all the documents are cleared and all
relevant formalities are complied with.
Ensure timely feedback on shipment status to clients
Ensure strict compliance of control – in-house operations
Manage key accounts and maintain excellent relationship with them to facilitate the business
Monitor the department’s performance and ensure that works flows smoothly.
