Anyonesharing relevantcontenton a specific subject can add the hashtag to their message. Others searchingfor that topic, can then search for that hashtagand find postsrelevantto that topic. 6 Anyoneand everyonecan use a hashtag,and they can has tag anything from #RioOlympics2016 to #CatVideos to the #KitchenSink.Thetrick, which will be covered in this handbook,is learning how to use them effectively for your business. They are importantand are an ideal part of any social media strategy becausethey extend your message,brand or cause out to a larger audience.And not just any audience,when used strategically it extendsout and captivates your ideal customer and target market. Try and keep these image on theme to your blog or business and post what your ideal customer is interested in. For example if your ideal audience is yogis and people interested in yoga, post images of yoga mats, yoga poses or yoga clothes. This is what your audience will be looking at so you want to grab their attention. You can even tag your yoga pose! #Yogi #WarriorOne #CobraPose 8 2. Brand This hashtag is catchy + unique to you and your brand. they The reinforce your brand. our followers can use to tag images they took of your products or similar things to your blog.spend some time developing a hashtag unique to your brand. Sticking to the yoga theme Lululemon uses the hashtag #TheSweatLife. Lululemon asks their followers and customers to share images to show how they live. Spend some time checking out what hashtags people in your niche are using. If your a fashion blogger or own your own clothing company you may use the hashtag #ss16Collection to show off your spring and summer collection. 9 4. Event Event hashtags can get you major exposure in a short period of time. Again, if your a fashion blogger and your writing about fashion week use the tag that is giving for fashion week this year #FashionWeek2016 or if you're a fitness blogger and you are writing about a local run #VancouverSunRun. If you're already using hashtags and still aren't seeing results maybe it's time to have a look at the hashtags you're using and add a few new ones to the mix.   11. 11. T I P S & T R I C K S MAXIMIZE EXPOSURE Use all of your allowed hashtags to maximize exposure. If you're only putting 3-5 hashtags you're limiting yourself to three to five search results. If you're adding all 30 which Instagram allows than your reaching out to that many more viewers. PLACEMENT It's a good idea to place hashtags in a comment after your caption to avoid looking spammy and desperate. #adding #a #ton #of #hashtags #in #your #caption ... looks terrible and distracting. 11 BE CREATIVE Try and be more creativewith your hashtags. Don't hashtag your images with things like #cute or #cat but instead add a bit of substanceto your hashtags like #thatsdarling and #orangetabby. Millions of people are hashtagging all day so try and stand out by being creative. INCREASE CHANCES Choose hashtags that aren't extremely popular. If a hashtag has over 400 thousand hits the probability of your hashtag standing out and being seen is slim. Stick to a smaller number of hits to increase your chances of exposure. Use your hashtag in your Facebook groups, your Facebook posts, on your Pinterest images or even on your business cards. CREATEYOUROWN Create your own hashtag and encourageothers to use that hashtag by creating a call to action or promote it in your bio. Having your own hashtag is a great way to create a community and drive engagement. Do some research to figure out what hashtag would work best to promote your brand. 12 CREATEA CHALLENGE Create a hashtag challenge. Similar to creating your own hashtag host a series of posts that prompt people to share their images and use your hashtag. For example you could do a summer photo challenge and call it 'your brand name here' loves summer. Mine would be #CLLovesSummer. Each day prompt them to sharetheir summer photos and use your hashtag. So put your hashtagsin a commentafter your description. It cleans up your feed and If you shareyour Instagram images on other social media Platforms it doesn'tlook so messy. It's awesometo add a ton of well thoughtout and researchedhashtags.But seeing a pile of them in a caption is distracting, looks kinda desperateand takes away from your post. 14 Once you’veworked out a good hashtag campaign (group of 20-30 nicherelated hashtags) copyand paste them into a notepad on your phoneor computer.Then onceyou've posted an image go into your notes and copy your campaign and paste it into a comment.
