The project aimed to develop key competencies for innovation and entrepreneurship in primary school pupils. Educational tools and a model were created to improve pupils' creativity, risk-taking, and ability to implement new ideas and manage projects. Over 15,000 pupils and 1,000 teachers from 100 schools participated. Teachers received training and materials on entrepreneurship education. The project resulted in educational materials for teachers and documented examples of good practices.

Name of the Project: Promoting development of competencies for entrepreneurship and
innovativeness of pupils in primary schools
The project was realized at the University of Ostrava from October 2010 to August 2013 together with a
partner – Základní škola Šafaříkova 726/9, Valašské Meziříčí (elementary school).
The aim of the project was to support the development of key competences for innovation and
entrepreneurship by teaching pupils at elementary schools. A model and educational tools were created
to develop these competences. Pupils improved their skills in transforming thoughts into practice which
requires creativity, ability to implement new methods , risk taking, planning and managing projects in
order to achieve certain goals. The project resulted in creation of educational and methodological
materials for teachers and pupils , teachers were trained in entrepreneurship education and innovation,
project days of entrepreneurship teaching at schools were organised at schools. A special pupilsdiagnostic focused on competences for entrepreneurship and inovativeness was carried out during
implementation of project activities in order to determine entrepreneurship quotient, skills and abilities.
Throughout the entire project all the teachers were provided with support to motivate them to participate
in activities and programmes related to entrepreneurship. Teachers were provided with all kinds of
support materials, consultations and instructions (including case studies and good practice examples).
At the end, a publication of eleven examples of good practice (focused on development of chosen
competence „sense of initiativeness“ was printed.
Within the project, educational materials for teachers were developped and a collection of good practice
in teaching was collected.
