I began my time here with not much knowledge of how to run and plan a function but then,
I have learnt a lot about how to deal with a client’s needs and wants, as well as how to run a
function or event.
I have learnt how to be quick but effective when setting up or packing down a function as
well as dealing with situations and thinking on my feet. Whilst primarily working in the
function room, I have done cross overs and worked in the café waitressing. The café has
allowed me to continuously improve on my customer skills and quick reactions and
knowledge on both food and beverage.

2. Barista/Waitress/Food Attendant: Yarrambat Park Golf Course (Belgravia Leisure).
Since working here I have managed to once again broaden my work knowledge and
experience through a range of duties that I had not previously encountered such as coffee
making and dealing with queries common to a golf course.
This role has allowed me to develop my multitasking skills and furthered my attention to
detail as well as furthering my skills. I feel confident in making coffee and being able to open
up the bistro/get the golf window ready for customers once they come off play.

Initially I began on a project with the Risk and Compliancy department for a 10 day period;
however it was then extended further due to the company’s recognition of my abilities. I
was asked to continue with the company for the summer in regards to another project
involving coordination of a premises move with the Process Improvement department. After
the move was completed I was asked to carry on further and began work on a project with
the Consumer Division team until university resumed in March 2012. I gained valuable skills
both with communication and computer skills in the office environment.

I have received training and gained experience on customer service, cash and card handling,
handling of difficult customers, security and safety in the workplace.
I have gained a lot of experience not only handling more difficult situations, but I also have
gained experience in cash counting, customer satisfaction, refunds and exchange policies
and are able to conduct them efficiently and professionally.

Interests:
Since studying Tourism and Business at La Trobe University I have had a massive interest on
how tourism affects developing countries and the need for sustainable tourism. By doing a
business degree as well I have gained much needed business skills and knowledge which I
have seen becomes useful in the jobs I have currently/previously done. I also enjoy learning
about business and how businesses work and run, which is why I applied for the BBC TV
program Junior Apprentice and got an audition in July 2009.
