Provided staff supervision for Bucks County Intermediate Unit #22 Early Intervention Program itinerant

Behavior Support Plans for Bucks County students with significant behavioral issues and provided ongoing
consultation and training to parents and educational staff.
Special Education Supervisor (Part-time, Substitute) 7/07 – 7/09
Performed all supervisory functions for the Intermediate Unit’s highly specialized Multiple Disabilities
Support and Physical Support classes.
Authored the comprehensive Bucks County Intermediate Unit #22 Special Education Supervision
Handbook.
Special Education Supervisor 3/97 – 7/07
Supervised an average of twenty-five classes yearly with a staff of up to seventy professional and support
personnel for students with special needs, most specifically, Autistic Support, Life Skills Support and
Language/Learning Support.
Job responsibilities included: serving as a hiring manager, conducting formal teacher observations and
evaluations, mediating staff, student, parent, agency and school district concerns, coordinating training for
parents and staff and managing the discretionary budget.
Implemented a research project in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University Kennedy-Krieger Center
for Autism and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to determine the treatment efficacy of two different
approaches to delivering social skills instruction to students with autism.
Served as an expert witness during Due Process Hearings.
Strategic Planning Facilitator 9/96 – 3/97
Facilitated the development of Strategic Plans for four school districts within the state of Pennsylvania and
served as the Internal Facilitator in the development of the Bucks County Intermediate Unit #22 Strategic
Plan, in addition to coordinating The Pennsylvania Strategic Planning Institute.
Acting Director of In-Service Programs 1/96 – 9/96
Coordinated staff development workshops, conferences and in-service course offerings for Bucks County
school district general education and special education personnel, including administrators, teachers,

Conducted Educational Evaluations and wrote corresponding detailed reports for over one thousand general
education students with learning and behavioral issues, assisted in the identification of students with special
needs and consulted with parents and school district personnel regarding specific strategies to address those
needs.
Served as a reviewer and contributing editor for Considerations in the Evaluation of the Learning Disabled
Child.
As part of an IU #22 Essential Elements of Instruction (EEI) Training Team, developed and presented
workshops on the EEI Framework and provided follow-up coaching.
