Magellan’s Cross holds a very big part of the history of Cebu.
It is believed to be a Christian cross planted by the
Portuguese and Spanish explorers headed by Ferdinand Magellan.
It was planted upon their arrival in Cebu on March 15, 1521.
That day also marked the birth of Christianity in the land.

14. Komedya- otherwise known as moro-moro or pretending to be Moors (a
tract of open land preserved for shooting ), is a traditional Filipino play
in the vernacular adapted from the Spanish comedia de capa y espada. It was
used by Spanish colonizers in the Philippines, circa 1766 to evangelize and
strengthen the faith of Indios or Filipino natives to Christianity.
Sinakulo- Senakulo (from the Spanish cenaculo) is a Lenten play that
depicts events from the Old and New Testaments related to the life,
sufferings, and death of Christ. The senakulo is traditionally performed on
a proscenium-type stage with painted cloth or paper backdrops that are
called telon.
Sarswela- Zarzuela is a Spanish lyric-dramatic genre that alternates
between spoken and sung scenes, the latter incorporating operatic and
popular songs, as well as dance.
Playlets- a short play or skit
Drama- an exciting, emotional, or unexpected series of events or set
of circumstances.
