What is digital marketing?
At a high level, digital marketing refers to advertising through digital channels
such as search engines, websites, social media, email, and mobile apps. Using
these online media channels, digital marketing is the method by which companies
endorse goods, services, and brands. Consumers heavily rely on digital means to
research products. For example, think with Google marketing insights found that
48% of consumers start their inquiries on search engines, while 33% look to brand
websites and 26% search within mobile applications.
Social Media
Social media has become not only an aspect of our daily lives, but also a key part
of marketing. Social media allows business to advertise, publicise, and promote
your business, as well as recruit and hire employees. Many new businesses turn to
social media as a way to get their businesses’ name out to the public, and
oftentimes will attract customers as well. Social media has truly revolutionized the
world of business and marketing, and will continue to do so for many years to
come.
The 4E Framework for Digital Marketing
The 4E framework for digital marketing is essentially a framework for marketing
communications with social media. The 4E framework starts with exciting the
customer with relevant offers, educating the customer about offering, helping
customers directly or indirectly experience products, and finally engage with
customers on a common platform. The first three Es essentially add up to fourth
E, which is engagement.
Engagement
The most important E that was previously discussed is engagement. Marketers
recognize the importance of engaging customers. Social media engagement
offers a profitable way to engage customers by taking into account their current
behavior while also setting the stage for future behavior. The growth of social
media and their effects in turn stems from several factors. The wheel of social
media engagement includes the terms information, timeliness, dynamic, network,
and connected. These are the five effects that drive social media engagement.
Problems that Digital Marketing can solve
There are many problems that digital marketing can potentially solve. Some
include businesses not knowing an audience well enough to get started, not
having a social media strategy, and having marketing teams that are siloed. These
are just a few of the many, many pros involving digital marketing and how much
they can help new marketers/businessmen.
Online Marketing
As a primary element of digital marketing, online marketing might be the most
familiar and well-established. It continues to grow rapidly, expanding innovative
new marketing activities in various electronic channels, such as websites and
thought-sharing sites, which are more widely known as blogs. Nearly all
manufacturers, retailers, and service providers in operation today have created
and maintain websites, blogs, and a social media presence, to enable customers
to interact with them over the Internet. A prime example of a firm that uses online
marketing to its fullest potential is Amazon.
Your Digital Marketing Program
Begin the launch of your digital marketing program by first determining your
audience and goals, and then putting in place metrics to ensure you’re always
improving. There are four main steps in planning, implementing, and optimizing
your digital marketing program. The first step is to identify and segment your
audiences. The second step is to establish goals and measurement strategy. Next,
set up your adtech and channels. Finally, launch and optimize your digital
marketing program!
Components of Digital Marketing
Digital marketing spans across a massive network of digital touchpoints that
customers interact with many times a day. It’s important to know what these
channels are. Paid search, search engine optimization (SEO), content marketing,
social media marketing, email marketing, mobile marketing, and marketing
automation are all components of digital marketing. We see these components
every single day and it never tends to cross our minds that we help so many
marketers make an abundance of money just by using our phones and laptops.
