In this presentation, Carol McFadden guides you through the top 3 easiest and most effective rituals you should include in your morning routine. While people complaining about the kind of involved and sustained effort needed to be in top physical and mental health are right, given the pressures of everyday life, Carol McFadden is here to show you how you can begin making a few changes that will, hopefully improve your overall health and wellbeing.
2. Drink a glass of water
When you wake up, your body has been
without water for around 8 hours so it’s
very important to get the flow of water
going again. Start your day with a tall
glass of water. Try keeping a bottle by
your bedside table and drinking from it
as soon as you wake up.
You want to avoid having breakfast and
other beverages before water as this can
cause damage to your digestive system.
A top Carol McFadden tip is to have a
warm glass of water with a lemon slice.
This isn’t a shock first thing in the
morning and the lemon helps your
digestive systems get ready for meals.
3. Try a stretching routine
A stretching routine helps to get your muscles
ready for the day ahead. There are plenty
available online and you should try to pick one
that suits your body type and abilities.
If you aren’t currently exercising regularly than
a morning stretching routine is a good idea
instead of something like yoga.
If you are exercising on a regular basis then try
fitting in a quick yoga session as soon as you
wake up.
4. Try a green smoothie
After waking up and washing, a
smoothie should be next on the to-do
list. A simple fruit smoothie containing
either kale or spinach will do wonders
for your state of mind.
It’s important to have one of the green
vegetables in a smoothie as those will
really help to boost energy levels in
the morning.
