– Better preparation of materials and lectures (both teachers and
students)
– Students got more involved, prepared and motivated
– Good classroom atmosphere.
– “I can design more attractive class activities”
• Improvements for the next year
– Preparation of teachers to apply this methodology.
– Students have to be motivated for self-study and previous work
– Smaller groups (ideally 30)

• “… having the course flipped enables the
teacher to do different things”
• “… I get more from the classroom time, so I had
to study less before the exam”
• “… I get the syllabus more structured, and I do in
small steps but at the end I learn more”
• “Working before the lecture time is a must”

• “ … I didn’t feel dificulties, I watched the video,
send the quiz and that’s all”

Conclusions
• Good acceptance by teachers despite the increased
workload.
• Great acceptance by students despite the increased
workload…
– …and the fact that they have to pass the same test than other groups.
• Preliminary results suggest that the best students improve
their grades…
– …although perhaps the not-so-good ones got worse results
So, we move on for the 2015-2016 year 

Universitat Politècnica de València www.upv.es Teachers’ panel • Pros – Better preparation of materials and lectures (both teachers and students) – Students got more involved, prepared and motivated – Good classroom atmosphere. – “I can design more attractive class activities” • Improvements for the next year – Preparation of teachers to apply this methodology. – Students have to be motivated for self-study and previous work – Smaller groups (ideally 30)

Flipped Teaching is different • “… having the course flipped enables the teacher to do different things” • “… I get more from the classroom time, so I had to study less before the exam” • “… I get the syllabus more structured, and I do in small steps but at the end I learn more” • “Working before the lecture time is a must”

They like videos • “ … I didn’t feel dificulties, I watched the video, send the quiz and that’s all” • “As the videos got recorded, I can go back and review after the classroom time” • “… with the videos I don’t need to open a book”

Universitat Politècnica de València www.upv.es Conclusions • Good acceptance by teachers despite the increased workload. • Great acceptance by students despite the increased workload… – …and the fact that they have to pass the same test than other groups. • Preliminary results suggest that the best students improve their grades… – …although perhaps the not-so-good ones got worse results So, we move on for the 2015-2016 year 
