  1. 1. ARTEMIS Artemis was one of the most widely venerated on the Ancient Greek deities. She was often described as the daugther of Zeus and Leto, and the twin sister of Apollo. She was the goddess of the hunt and wild animals.
  2. 2. APOLLO Apollo is one of the most important of the Olympian deities in Classical Greece. Apollo has been variously recognized as a god of the music, sun and light, poetry, and more. Apollo was the son of Zeus and Leto, and has a twin sister, Artemis.
  3. 3. ATHENA Athena is the goddess of wisedom, craft and war in Ancient Greek religion. Athena is know for her calm temperament. While the city of Athens and the goddess Athena essentially bear the same name, it is not know which of the two words derived from the other.
  4. 4. POSEIDON Poseidon was the god of the sea. There is a Homeric hymn to Poseidon, who was the protector of many Hellenistic cities, although he lost the contest for Athens against Athena.
  5. 5. DEMETER In the Anciente Greek religion she is the goddess of agriculture and harvest. She and her daughter, Persephone, were the centre of Eleusinian Mysteries. The Eleusinian Mysteries were initiations held every year for the cult of Demeter and Persephone based at Eleusis in Ancient Greece.
