It could lead to $300 billion in added economic growth annually in the US by improving K-12 and college instruction and making education more efficient. However, big data also poses threats if it is used to set students on "fixed futures" based solely on past performance data. - Hhh Using computes to improve edu has been one of the great unmet hope of tech revolution. Billtions have been spent, but most fundamental measure of student achievment has not improved
- Impossible to find out which company collects which data on children. Schools don’t know which tools teachers are using. I wonder – what interest would edtech companies have to give out that data- unless their only monetization source is advertising, which is rare in the ed space.
