  14. 14. Identified weakness The Diagnostic Report (2013) for ANA provides a Framework for Improvement (2014). “The fundamental goal is to ensure that the areas of weaknesses . . . are corrected through effective teaching and assessment practices.” Difficulty applying the knowledge of inverses to solve equations Remedial measures The teaching of equations should be preceded by the teaching of integers Addition & subtraction should be taught simultaneously to demonstrate the concept of additive inverse. Multiplication & division should be taught simultaneously to demonstrate the concept of multiplicative inverse.
