A poem that defines me
“Don’t Quit” by John Greenleaf Whittier
When things go wrong as they sometimes will
When the road you’re running seems all uphill
When the funds are low, and the debts are high
And you’re trying to smile but you have no sigh
When cares are pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must,
But don’t you quit.
Don’t give up, though the pace seems slow
You may succeed with your next blow.
Success is failure turned inside out
It’s the difference between faith and doubt
You may be close, though it seems so far
It’s hard to tell how close you are
So stick to the flight when you’re hard hit
It’s when things seem their worst,
That you must not quit.
I chose this poem because it defines that when you don’t quit, your hard work
pays off in the end giving you incredible opportunities in life.
