3. Miriam Campos Root, CCIM, PE, LEED AP
Ms. Campos-Root’s career in the building industry began in 1989 after
graduating from Cal Poly State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in
Civil Engineering. As a licensed professional engineer in three states, Ms.
Campos Root participated in the design and planning of numerous land
development projects throughout California, Oregon, and Nevada –working
closely with developers and municipalities to create cost effective solutions.
Her experience as a civil engineer ranges from the development of raw land,
subdivisions, municipal water projects, and government water quality
assessment programs.
In 2000 her focus changed from civil engineering to commercial real estate
when she became a licensed Commercial Real Estate broker. Prior to joining
Prudential, she began her real estate career with Coldwell Banker Commercial,
and then gained her development expertise with Saxa Inc. (formally Shea
Commercial) leading experts in commercial office condos. Miriam has successfully closed both sale and
lease transactions valued over $100,000,000 million in value as a result of her diligence and attention to
strong customer service to both clients and customers. . In that period of time, she has engaged and
successfully closed on over 750,000 SF of office condominiums, multi-tenant office, high profile class ‘A’
office space, and mixed used developments. Miriam Campos Root, CCIM is vice president of Prudential
CRES Commercial Real Estate, a national full service real estate brokerage company in Las Vegas,
Nevada. She is able to offer clients assistance in site selection, land acquisition, and development, and
offers extensive knowledge in investment evaluation, sales and leasing.
Miriam has been active in NAIOP during her commercial real estate career and has been a member for
the last five years. Miriam is currently the co-chair for the Southern Nevada Chapter Sustainable
Development Committee for 2009. She is passionate about being involved in the Sustainable
Development Committee and sees NAIOP as being a leader in sustainable development education and
practice. In March of 2008 Ms. Campos Root became the first female real estate agent in Nevada to
earn her LEED AP designation.
Ms. Campos Root earned her CCIM designation in 2004. She is active in the local Southern Nevada
CCIM chapter since 2000, currently serving on the chapter board. She served as the education
committee chair and president elect in 2006, and the 2007 president for the chapter. She is currently
involved with several institute programs and committees. Ms. Campos Root was elected to the national
board of directors for 2008-2011. Additionally, she is part of the 2008 Jay W. Levine Leadership
Academy, the 2008 Chapter Activities Sub-Committee, and the chair of Chapter activities Task Force for
Cultural Diversity, and the Vice Chair for Member Services for 2008-2009, and International Committee.
Ms. Campos-Root is also a member of International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), U. S. Green
Building Council, Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, Asian
Chamber of Commerce, and Las Vegas Commercial Marketing Group. Miriam volunteers her time to
various community service programs including speaking engagements with Park Edison At Risk Schools
and toy fundraising as well as participates in reading week, and participates yearly in Secret Santa for
broken and underprivileged families in distressed neighborhoods.
