The illiterate of the 21st century will not
be those who cannot read and write, it will
be those who cannot learn, unlearn and
relearn.
âą How do we build a community of global learners for the
purpose of connecting and engaging people in
collaborative lifelong learning?
â Creativity and creative problem solving are building
blocks for sustaining lifelong learning and having fun
in the process.

Creativity and Multicultural Communication
Increasingly, the challenges we face are complex and open-ended and
greater understanding of creative problem solving is needed.
Knowledge alone is not enough to reach innovative and effective
solutions and more creative thinking skills are needed. In addition, the
connected world needs to be acknowledged as the new learning
environment.
Students and mentors will interact through web-based and mobile-
based research, practical implementation assignments and web 2.0
activities designed around creative problem solving challenges in a
multicultural environment. Connectivist theory will be used as a guide
for navigating our networked world. Approaches to creativity will be
applied to student-generated challenges. Students and mentors will
strive to improve their creativity and communication skills throughout
the term.
