ABOUT THE FACILITY
WHO CAN APPLY?
WHY PARTNER WITH ASSIST?
PPP is a facility provided to private companies by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation
and Development (BMZ) under the develoPPP.de programme (www.developpp.de). The programme
fosters partnerships/projects between the private sector and the German aid organizations for the benefit
of both parties including the stakeholders as a result of the good collaboration.
Agencies administered by the Federal Ministry for
Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in
Germany.
German/Western European companies qualify as private
partners and are welcome as applicants to submit
proposals every quarter.
German/Western European companies entitled to apply
must have:
A successful market presence of at least 3 years
At least 10 employees
An annual turnover of at least 1 Million Euros
A planned long-term commitment in the partner country
Registered associations, foundations, non-government
organizations (NGO), foreign chambers of commerce are
in principle entitled to participate in the PPP project as
partners of the applicant.
Public partner contributes a maximum of EUR 200,000 in
cash per PPP.
Thematic areas:
Resource & climate protection, Energy
& environment, Training & capacity
building, Rural development, etc.
Innovative ideas from the private
partner are also supported by the
public partner.
PPP shall benefit the society and the
environment as well as the long term
interests of the private company.
Private partner contributes an equal amount in cash or
in-kind per PPP.
Three main agencies: DEG, SEQUA and GIZ PPP shall be managed mainly by the private partners and
its partners.

OUR PPP PARTNERS
Asia Society for Social Improvement and
Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST) is a
self-sustaining pan-Asian non-profit
organization with offices in 6 countries.
ASSIST seeks to achieve sustainable
transformation whilst ensuring improvement of
social equity amongst all. Our goal is to
empower our target groups and make them
resilient to social, economic and
environmental challenges.
We believe more good can be achieved
through better collaboration, open
communication, and capacity building. Our
vision is enshrined in the simple philosophy of
“Partner for Progress”.
We have carried out over 50 developmental
projects funded by International donors
including European Union, UNDP, UNEP,
USAID, ADB, GIZ, DEG, IFC in over 13
countries in South East Asia, South Asia,
China and Africa.
