Buckinghamshire New University has a long history dating back to 1891 when it started as a science and art school. It became a university college in 1999 and was granted full university status in 2007. The university has a modern campus located in High Wycombe with state-of-the-art facilities. It offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs and unique courses such as commercial pilot training and games development.

Buckinghamshire New University has a long and
proud history serving students and producing
highly qualified individuals for over 100 years.
Bucks New University started it’s history in 1891 as
a Science and Art school before turning into The
Wycombe Technical Institute with furniture making
as a specialism.
In 1999 the school became Buckinghamshire
Chilterns University College. In 2007 BCUC was
granted official university status and changed it’s
name to Buckinghamshire New University.
With the completion of the state-of-the-art
Gateway building Bucks can now boast a modern
integrated learning resources centre, music
recording studios, video production suites and a
fitness centre.

- This programme is unique in the UK, as it allows students to obtain a university degree
and a frozen ATPL in three years of full-time study

• BSc (Hons) Games Development
- Bucks is a member of the PlayStation® Vita Academic Development Programme run by
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE), TIGA - the trade association representing
the UK's games industry and we have an association with Alienware
- Bucks has recently introduced more specialised games modules, made a significant
investment in a new games lab and employed staff with games industry experience
- Graduates of the course will be well placed to pursue a career within the growing
games and media sectors as Game Play Programmers, Tool, Engine, Level, Graphical or
AI Programmers.

15. Fees & Funding
• The fees for undergraduate courses in 2016/17 are £9,000
•
• EU students can apply for funding to cover 100% of the tuition fees!
• It is a loan given to you by the British Government
• You must apply for this loan through the Student Loan Company.
• If successful, you don’t need to pay anything up front, and you don’t have to pay
anything back until you have graduated – and are earning more than £21,000 per year
in the UK or the equivalent threshold in your country.

• Students coming to study an undergraduate course are
asked to apply through the University and Colleges
Admissions Service (UCAS) – www.ucas.com
• This can be done directly or through Kalba.

• Make sure to include a personal statement and get a good reference from
your teacher.

• Brandos Atestatas - A minimum average grade of 7 overall.
•
• English language certificate / Brandos Atestatas grade 8 in English
