Your job is to convince potential advertisers that they can reach their customers by
advertising in your publications. Based on readership, choose one of the following brands
to pitch:

You must develop a cross-channel (print, digital, tablet, event) package to sell to your
client, based on the opportunities best suited to their target market. Deliverables include:
1. Target market profile- show how it correlates with your audience
2. Advertising package- should include all publications you deem relevant as well as
cross-channel opportunities
3. Spreadsheet- include relevant cost data, CPM, reach, frequency, impressions
4. Special opportunities- can you design any creative means of reaching their target?
5. Are there any specific scheduling, geographic, editorial elements you think you
should address or include in your proposal?
You will create a PowerPoint presentation and hand in the slide deck for grading. (You
will not actually present in class.) Please hand in full page versions of your slides. You
should use visuals when appropriate and to make your deck more interesting. Remember,
this is a sales pitch. You are trying to convince a client (as well as their ad agency) why
they should advertise with you and not your competition. Your proposal should include
supporting information that validates your recommendations. It should also be creative
and interesting- and your plan should be something that would catch the attention of the
target market. Cite all sources.
