It finds that 90% of organizations value intercultural skills and nearly all see benefits when employees have them, but also risks when they lack them. However, only 47% screen for these skills during hiring. It also examines indicators of intercultural skills like international experience and language skills. Additionally, it looks at how well education is supporting the development of these skills and areas it could improve, such as increasing foreign language learning, study abroad programs, and international research partnerships. Finally, it provides recommendations for employers, job seekers, and policymakers/educators to better meet the challenge of developing intercultural skills.
