4. Our Surgical Team
Dr. Sinezio de Souza Filho is a board certified plastic
surgeon and he has been practicing surgery for
over 30 years in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Dr. Souza
Filho completed residencies in general surgery,
maxillofacial surgery and plastic surgery and is a
member of several national and international
medical societies.
He is an assistant professor of the Post-Graduate
Degree in Plastic Surgery of Professor Ivo Pitanguy
from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de
Janeiro and a founding member of a surgical
international charity organization named “Smile
Train”.
For many years, Dr. Souza has been repairing cleft
palates, war burns and different deformities in
high-risk areas and in countries like Afghanistan,
Pakistan, Iraq, Angola, Mozambique, the Ivory
Coast, Tanzania, Ethiopia and the Congo.
He is also a plastic and trauma surgeon at Copa
d’Or Hospital, the most prestigious medical facility
in Rio de Janeiro.

Dr. Charles-Henri Caillile is a board certified plastic
surgeon and he has been practicing surgery since
1992 both in Brazil and in France.
He graduated Summa cum laude from the
University of San Diego, California, with a
Bachelor’s degree in biology and in biochemistry
and he received his Medical degree from the
Federal University of Rio de Janeiro – School of
Medicine in 1986. He completed his internship and
his general surgical training in Paris, France.
He also completed his residency in plastic surgery
in 1992 and received his degree, the Post-Graduate
Degree in Plastic Surgery of Professor Ivo Pitanguy,
from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de
Janeiro, Brazil.
Dr. Charles-Henri Caillile co-authored a renowned
French surgical book and translated its English
version. He speaks five languages and is fluent in
English, Spanish and Arabic.
