2. Who are Form Storms creators? CharacTell Ltd was founded in 1998 by Mr. Ofer Comay and Dr. Eliyahu Comay. Their goal was to develop advanced character recognition technologies which for the first time would make recognizing handwritten characters practical, successful and just as importantly affordable. Since this time, CharacTell have achieved this goal and have built on their success. FormStorm Enterprise is now a fourth generation form processing system offering superb features at an excellent price.
3. What type of information can FormStorm extract? Check, fill or circle. Upper or lower case handwriting segregated. Optical mark recognition (OMR) Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR)
4. What type of information can FormStorm extract? Specific fonts: E13B, TrueType… Wide range of barcodes supported Machine print Barcode Recognition Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
5. What type of information can FormStorm extract? Moving Fields Fixed table item extraction Tables (Fixed) SemiForm
6. What type of information can FormStorm extract? Context based Joined (Cursive) handprint For fields that move on the form but do not have a fixed label to find them. FormStorm finds the closest data based on field type. (N.B. purchased as an additional engine to FormStorm Enterprise). Auto Locate FieldScript
7. Classifier training Fields can be trained to maximize recognition results on certain unusual fonts or handwriting. Examples for cases when training can make a big difference are: Unusual fonts/handwriting not supported by the ready classifiers. Low quality images, classifier may produce unsatisfactory results. Distortions such as the images being consistently too light/dark or skewed .
9. System set up Machine print System - order of creation: System (Multiple systems allowed) Form (virtually unlimited number of forms per system) Fields r
10. System set up Machine print Pages Templates (Multiple versions allowed for each page) Regions r
26. Flexible Architecture and load balancing Export Server Typically a single server has ample processing power to handle all of FormStorm's unattended processes. On large scale operations processes can be split to different servers. Additional modules can also be added to the system if required such as multiple recognition or automatic capture processes. Recognition Server 1 Central Server and Repository Recognition Server 2 Automatic Capture
27. Matching Documents that could not be identified at the recognition stage are passed to matching users for confirmation. This is an optional module as the matching can also be done at the verify stage. This stage would normally be implemented if there where large volume of documents with unknown formats to be processed. In a typical system unrecognised documents are a rarity, usually attributed to a bad scan.
28. Verify The verify module displays information that requires user interaction. This can be configured to show data to the verifier if : empty. not empty. it fails a validation rule. custom script activated. it is always required to be seen.
29. TruTypist The Trutypist module can be used as an additional workflow stage. It has the full functionality of the verify module. Vital fields Fields can be double keyed / verified by separate operators and if a difference occurs the operator can be warned. Alternatively the difference can be sent to a supervisor. Split keying It can also be used to split keying dependant on field type or custom rules. For example, on the same page of an order form, address information could be handled by Verify users and payment details by Trutypists.
30. Supervisor The supervisor module allows for issues to be resolved by a more experienced member of staff. Entries made at the Verify or Trutypist levels can be overruled here. The supervisor can choose to look at just the problems or all fields of the job.
31. QualityControl Quality control displays a configurable random sampling of work flowing through the FormStorm system. Unaccepted batches can be marked and sent back to the appropriate queues.
32. Export Export data formats Standard: Access® SQL Server® and Express Oracle® XML (Extensible Mark up Language) CSV or a simple separated text file zyLAB (eDiscovery) ODBC Share Point (Requires additional module) File headings, delimiters, job separation Configurable. Export images formats Multiple or single page Colour or black and white Export enhanced and original image PDF (searchable optional) TIFF Uncompressed, Group 3 & 4 Image descriptor name, location is fully configurable
33. Queues Queues Jobs in progress can be monitored via the queues module. Options include: 1. Queue filtering. 2. Job redirection. 3. Place jobs on hold. 4. Physical pages of a job can be viewed. 5. Summary of all jobs in the system.
34. Statistics and Reports Statistics System administrators can generate detailed performance statistics to help achieve optimal productivity. Reports User and system reports can be created on a daily basis.
35. User configuration Intuitive user maintenance and set up. Options include: Manage user permissions by group. Enable global users across systems. Enable/disable modules and menu options, based on group or user. 4. During processing rules can be initiated via scripts dependant on user.
36. Remote scanning and validation Terminal Services and Citrix supported for users at remote sites. London New York Form Storm Server Paris
