6. Style Guide - Logo
• The logo should always contain purple, it can use other colours however purple
is a must. The size of the logo must be no smaller than 8mm. There is no
maximum as to how big it can be. By keeping it purple we would be sticking to
the E4 roots and not changing anything so the logo will still be easily
recognisable. And the size is like this so it can be easily spotted, if it is too small
nobody would be able to see it therefore they may not be able to identify the
channel.
7. Position of the logo
• The position of the logo must always be the same. It must always appear in the
bottom right corner. This is because in the bottom right hand corner it is still
easily seen but it will not get in the way of any important information.
8. Colour
• The colour used (purple) must always be the same shade, Pantone 2602cC71
M95 Y4 K0R109 G29 B124Web 66 33 99. No other colour should be used. This
is only because the style guide states that this has to be that colour so it stays
with the signature E4 theme.
9. Design
The logo design is a purple splat, which symbolises the random and creative nature
of E4. The colour being purple because it fits with E4’s style guide and their
corporate identity theory. The E in the logo is white, which makes it visible from
the splat, and it sits slightly higher than the white 4, then forming the final logo of
E4.
10. Typography
• We use ‘ITC American Typewriter’ for all brand identity. We decided this
because it has a professional look and generally looks good. The logo however
can be any font as long as it follows the colour code. The font size must be no
smaller than 8pt, and there is no maximum size. This is just so it is easily visible
for anyone, depending on if they have any sight disabilities. Headlines and
subheadings must always be in bold but use the same font. Heading font size
must always be bigger than the normal text size. All of this is to increase the
visibility of the titles, and the headings themselves need to be bigger because
they are the focal point of the screen.
11. Final
Logo
We chose this as our final logo because we feel
it fits the Corporate Identity Theory well. It
has our variation of the E4 logo and fits the
E4 style guide. The colour reflects E4’s
chosen colour scheme in their style guide.
Purple and white have always been the
trademark colours of E4 so we didn’t want to
change that. Also the splat reflects the child
like content that they broadcast on their
channel and adds to the slightly comedic
side to the channel.
