2. God made you, loves you and has a wonderful plan for your
life (Gen. 1: 1, John 3:16, John 10: 10).
Humanity is tainted by sin and is therefore separated from
God. As a result, we cannot know God's wonderful plan for
our lives (Rom. 3:23, Rom. 6:23).
Jesus Christ is God's only provision for our sin. Through Jesus
Christ, we can have our sins forgiven and restore a right
relationship with God (John 1:1, 1 Tim. 2:5, Heb. 7:26, Rom.
3:21-26, 2 Cor. 5:21, 1 Cor. 15:20-22).
We must place our faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour in order to
receive the gift of salvation and know God's wonderful plan
for our lives (Mark 1:15, Acts 20:21, Rom. 10:9-10).
3. If this is what Paul meant by
‘good news’…
1. Why doesn’t it sound
like good news?

2. Why does it look like
a patchwork quilt?
9. God made you, loves you and has a wonderful plan for your

3. When did Christians
start presenting the
gospel like this?

14. I am perfectly comfortable with what people
normally mean when they say “the gospel.” I just
don’t think it is what Paul means. In other words,
I am not denying that the usual meanings are
things that people ought to say, to preach about,
to believe. I simply wouldn’t use the word
“gospel” to denote these things.

What Saint Paul Really Said
16. What does the 20th century
gospel say about…
What God expects?
17. What does the 20th century
gospel say about…
Anyone else?
18. ‘Gospels of sin management’ presume a Christ
with no serious work other than redeeming
humankind…[and] they foster ‘vampire
Christians,’ who only want a little blood for their
sins but nothing more to do with Jesus until
heaven
