3. The dashboard provides an overall view for consumption of fats and proteins in various food items
category such as Animal Fats, Animal Products, Pulses, Spices etc., We have countries and
continents as are base for comparison for multiple figures. Along with the food consumptions
percentage, we also have Covid-19 cases dataset with us which includes Active, Death, Recovered
and Confirmed cases.
Continents include Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, South America, Australia and Oceania.
These have been created using group concept in tableau. Countries include 170 countries from all
around the world which are displayed over dashboard to allow the user to choose specific countries
of his/her choice to view the data over graphs. Continents interactivity is linked with two graphs
whereas country interactivity has been linked with other six graphs in all together.
In one of the graphs, we have used non-veg food items as our base for comparison for various
countries. Here, the non-veg items include meat, egg, fish, and seafood. The datasheet also have
percentage comparison for obesity and undernourishment of the population in that particular
country. To have more clarity w.r.t. continents, we have grouped counties into continents and used
this as our filter for obesity and undernourishment.
4. Section 2: The Dataset
During the last few months, we've observed doctors, nurses, paramedics, and thousands of other
medical personnel risks their lives to save infected patients. And, as the fight against COVID-19
continues, we should all ask ourselves, "What can we do to help?" What can we do to safeguard
our loved ones, those who make sacrifices for us, and ourselves against this pandemic? This
answer is simple as By adopting a healthy diet, we can protect our families and our own health.
In this dataset, we have from various types of food, the global obesity and undernutrition rate,
and the global COVID-19 case count from around the world to learn more about how a healthy
eating style could help combat the Corona Virus. We can also use the dataset to gather
information about diet trends in countries with lower COVID infection rates and modify our own
nutrition accordingly. In data set b, We have various fat/protein/Food quantity(Kcal and Kg)
energy intake (kcal), food supply quantity (kg), and protein for various food categories (all
calculated as percentage of total intake amount). We also have columns for obesity and
undernourishment rates (both in percentage) for comparing. The datasets also included the most
last several confirmed/deaths/recovered/active cases at the end (also in percentage of current
population for each country). All the fields in datasets are obtained in percentage unit except for
Population field.
Mostly all the attributes we are using in the data set is Categorial type.
The fat/protein/food quantity intake supply has been taken for all the countries as in screenshot
below:
Fat:
6. Data for various food group supply quantities, nutrition values, obesity, and undernutrition
percentages are obtained from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations'
FAO website. We have at the most recent dataset to see the specific types of food included in
each category based on FAO data.
Data sets contains the following information:
Columns: 32 Fields
Rows: 170
We used four datasets, which are referred to as Fat Supply Quantity Data, Food Supply Quantity
kg, Food Supply Kcal Data, and Protein Supply Quantity Data. These datasets show the percentage
of protein intake from various types of food in countries around the world.
There are 170 datasets and 32 fields (columns) in each dataset (rows).
No Pre - Processing of Data:
As the data set contains all the information in a straightforward manner without any Null values,
Missing Values, Negative values there is no need of further preprocessing required for the data
sets being used in the Tableau.
Section – 3: Prospective Dashboard Users
The Food Quality Testing team can use the dashboard to analyze the quality and
consumption of various foods all over the world, which can then be used as data for the
Survey.
Food-related deaths are being investigated, and the investigating team will consider use
of the dashboard. (Investigators)
7. Dieticians are potential users for this board because they can understand how much
fat/protein and other intake a patient consumes and can treat based on the data provided.
The food dashboard can help researchers better understand the role of diet and individual
food components in normal growth and development.
Stakeholders will invest to research to create a healthy prepacked meals or any other food
products based on the quality (Supply).
Food Bloggers can make use of the mentioned dashboard for the food tasting and the fat
intake or protein intake a particular cuisine have.
Scientists can use the data and the dashboard for research purpose to analyze on further
food.
Section -4 : List of Final Set of Questions
1. What is the percentage of protein VS Fat intake in various food items under category
"Animal Products" for listed 170 countries in the dataset?
2. What is the percentage of Confirmed, Death, Recovered cases of people due to covid-19?
3. Comparison of fat intake in various Non-vegetarian (Aquatic products, eggs, Fish seafood,
Meat) food items?
4. What is the percentage of fat intake of spices by population in various continents of the
world?
5. Comparison of undernourished and obesity rate for various continents w.r.t fat food supply
datasheet?

14. Section 6: Dashboard Interactivity
1. Select Country
This interactivity filter used here to filter out the countries and showcase only particular
countries which we want to depict the data or compare for any few countries rather than all
countries. By this the data can be shown in much more clear way and the comparison is
visible through the naked eye. As most of the data fields are of categorical type, the bar
graph will be used which display the data will accordingly for each selected option from
this filter. If ‘All’ option is selected then all the values will be displayed in the bar graph
The bar chart for this interactive control would be Plot 1, 2, 7 and 10
Total number of countries present in the dataset is 170.
2. Select Continents
This interactivity filter is created by group the countries with respect to their continent and
used here to filter out the 6 continents and showcase only particular continents which we
want to depict the data or show comparison between any continents rather than all
continents. By this the data can be shown in much more clear way and the comparison is
visible through the naked eye. As most of the data fields are of categorical type, the bar
graph will be used which display the data will accordingly for each selected option from
this filter. If ‘All’ option is selected then all the values will be displayed in the bar graph
The bar chart for this interactive control would be Plot 4 and 5.
