Indian Soldiers are considered among the very best in high altitude
and mountain warfare.
HAWS is one of the most
elite military training
centers in the world and is
frequented by special
operation teams of U.S,
U.K and RUSSIA.
India has the biggest voluntary army in the world.
Unlike other government organizations and institutions in India, there
are no provisions for reservation based on caste or religion.
India covertly tested its nuclear arsenal in the early 1970s and late 1990s
without the CIA even knowing what was happening. Till date it is considered
to be one of the biggest failures of CIA in espionage and detection.
The Indo-Pakistan war of 1971 came to an end with the surrender of about
93000 combatants and officials of Pakistani Army. The war resulted in the
creation of Independent state of Bangladesh.
India won the Kargil war which took place in 1999. It was later named as
operation ‘Vijay’.
Operation Rahat (2013) is considered as biggest civilian rescue operations
ever carried out in the world.
Surgical Strikes performed by Indian Army
In June 2015, a team of 70 Indian army commandos carried out
surgical strike inside the jungles of Myanmer. The 40 minutes
operation took out 38 dreaded Naga militants and left seven injured.
The strike was planned after Naga militants killed 18 Indian soldiers
in Chandel area of Manipur.
Indian Para Commandos carried out a surgical strike in Pakistan
on september 29,2016.They destroyed 7 terror launch pads and this
operation caused significant casualities including death of several
Pak Militants and 2 Pak Rangers.
Many popular celebraties are often awarded Honarary ranks in the armed
forces.
