MARKETING
Meaning
âť‘Market: it is a place where buyers and sellers sales and buys
from producers.
âť‘Marketing: it is a process or system of business activity designed
to plan promote and distribute the want satisfying goods and
services to target market.
âť‘Marketing Management: It can be defined as an art and science
of choosing target volume and getting keeping and growing

customer value.
According to American Marketing Association (AMA),
Marketing is the activity, set of institutions and processes for
creating, communicating, delivering and exchanging offering that
have value for customers, clients, partners and society at large.
According to Dr. Philip Kotler defines marketing as the science
and art of exploring, creating and delivering value of satisfying the
needs of target market at a profit. Marketing identifies unfulfilled
needs and desires. It defines, measure and quantifies market and
profit potential
“Marketing is the activity, set of institutions, and
processes for creating, communicating, delivering,
and exchanging offerings that have value for
customers, clients, partners, and society at large.”
Simple definition:
Marketing is the management process responsible for identifying,
anticipating, and satisfying customer requirements profitably.
Goals:
1. Attract new customers by promising superior value.
2. Keep and grow current customers by delivering satisfaction.
OLD view of
marketing:
Making a sale—
“telling and selling”
NEW view of
marketing:
Satisfying
customer needs
What is marketing management?
Marketing management is the process of planning and
executing the conception, pricing, promotion, and
distribution of ideas, goods, and services to create exchanges

Demand
Demand refers to the desire expressed by buyers and their
willingness and ability to acquire a certain goods
Wants + Buying Power = Demand
Product
