2. Important Dates
• Monday 17th April
– Readathon begins = 2 weeks
• Thursday 11th July
– Last day for handing in sponsorship money
3. Sponsorship Cards
• Make sure you have filled the details on the
front of the sponsorship card:
– Name
– School
– Class
4. Sponsorship Cards:
Setting Targets
• Set yourself a target for what/how
much you are going to read during
Readathon.
• Examples:
• Titles of specific books – Zom-B City, The
Wonder of Water, The Hobbit
• How many AR quizzes you are going to
take – 6 quizzes
• You may want to move up a ZPD level – I
will be reading ZPD of 3.9 by the end of
Readathon
5. Sponsorship Cards:
Filling It In
• You need to make sure to fill in your
sponsorship card correctly.
– Initials, Surname
– Home address (House number, Street,
Town/City/Postcode)
– Amount (Sponsored amount per book read or
total amount)
– Gift Aid
– Amount Collected
7. Collecting in Sponsorship
• Readathon finishes on Friday 28th June.
• As soon as Readathon has finished you can
start collecting in your sponsorship money.
• Miss Roe will come round form rooms each
day to collect sponsorship money.
• You must hand in your sponsorship card with
your money. (This is so Gift Aid can be claimed
by Readathon.)
8. Sponsorship Target
• If everyone (including form teachers) aimed to
raise at least £5 in sponsorship, we would
raise £740 as a year group.
• This would be great for the charities that
Readathon supports:
– CLIC Sargent
– Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity
9. LRC Blog
• Keep up to date with
your progress
throughout Readathon
with the LRC blog:
http://belmontlrc.blogspot.com
• Miss Roe will also be
taking part. Ask what I
am reading and how
much I have raised in
sponsorship.
