4. INSTALLATION FOR PRIVATE NETWORK
Ethernet connection to Sentry units, DHCP or static IP (preferred)
A computer/server with static IP, Windows Server 2008/2012, Win 7 or 8
Laptop or desktop with Win 7, 8 or 10
BatteryDAQ DAS and Analyzer Software (CD)
Microsoft SQL Server Express 2012 (Download from Microsoft)

5. DAS SERVER INSTALLATION
Select a reliable computer (desktop or server) with Static IP for
DAS Server. Set computer always on (no sleeping).
Install Microsoft SQL Server Express. (This is not needed if only
run DAS on it.)
Install DAS and Analyzer software from CD.
Configure Server
Assign a virtual Modbus ID (This is different from actual Modbus
ID on each Sentry unit. )
Set to correct battery number
Input DTU ID and actual Modbus ID for each Sentry unit
6. SENTRY UNIT ETHERNET CONNECTION
Connect Sentry unit(s) to designated network
Run IpSetup.exe, search for Sentry unit(s)
Set IP, Mask, and Gateway to Sentry unit(s)
Launch web browser
7. CONFIGURE SENTRY
Set Host IP to DAS Server Static IP
Do not change other settings
Enter Password to save it.

8. BATTERY ANALYZER INSTALLATION
Install Microsoft SQL Express to every computer for Battery Analyzer (All
default setting and using windows authentication mode)
Install Battery Analyzer from CD
For software update, if you wish to keep previous battery data in database,
select “N” when it prompts.
Configure Battery Analyzer (Refer to manual for more details)
Add equipment, Set IP to DAS server and assigned Modbus ID
Select Internal Resistance or Impedance/Conductance display from system
setting.
Record IR baseline, close/restart Battery Analyzer to verify database installation.
9. ALARM SETTINGS AND DELIVERY
Alarm is generated from the computer running Battery Analyzer, not
DAS server.
Set the alarm parameters according to battery configuration
Set the alarm delivery method, email/message/SNMP etc. (Refer to
manual)
