DEFINITION OF TIME MANAGEMENT  Time management means the development of a process and tools that help you to be more productive and efficient.  Time management is the ability to manage yourself within a given time.  It is about making sure that you get things accomplished in a time limit.  This can be applied at work or at home.  you can be happier and efficient person all together.

TIME MANAGEMENT Time Management can be done effectively through the following ways:  Goal setting, what you want from life.  Planning out your goals in life.  Prioritizing with what comes first.  Making decisions about important choices.  Scheduling what is going to be worked on and what order.
  4. 4. TIPS OF EFFECTIVE TIME MANAGEMENT FOR STUDENTS  1. Write everything down. Maintain and use a quarter planner to indicate when major projects will be due, exams will be given, and events will be held. Copy important deadlines (tests, papers due) into your date book from your syllabi. Write down deadlines in stages: research, outline, 1st draft, etc.  2. Consolidate information into your date book.  3. Consolidate your planning time. Take half an hour to plan a day or week at a time, specifically looking at which assignments to do when.  4. Structure your out-of-class time. Write down a specific assignment into a specific time slot, as if it was a class you were planning to attend. Be there on time.  5. Use small bits of time between classes and meetings effectively. In fifteen minutes you can review, edit, and revise your notes from a recent lecture.

Is it the whole problem set, or just one that has a section you can’t understand? Rome wasn’t built in a day; college takes 4 years; difficult tasks are meant to be subdivided.  8. Build rewards into your schedule. Four hours of solid studying followed by half an hour discussion with your best friend is more productive than four mediocre hours of study interspersed with phone calls.  9. Take time for yourself. Exercise, relax and sleep well.  10. If you give a moment of your full attention to something that worried or distracted you, it is more likely to be quitted.

  9. 9. EFFECTS OF TIME MANAGEMENT  1. Control: Proper time management allows to take control over your life. By pre-planning your activities you help your days to become ordered.  2. Productivity: Proper time management allows you to be more productive. When you don’t properly manage your time, you often have too many activities and not sufficient day. Time gets away from you. To counteract this, write down what you need to get done and allocate a definite and realistic period of time to achieve it. When the time period is up for each activity, move on.

EFFECTS OF TIME MANAGEMENT  3. Confidence:  Proper  time  management  gives  you  confidence.  This  is  partly  because  you  have  taken  control  of  your  life.  As  your  accomplishments  grow  so  will  your  confidence.  4. Fun: Proper  time  management  allows  you  to  have  more  time for fun. By prioritizing and getting the most important  and pressing things done first, you then have time to do the  things you really want to do. This might be a favourite hobby,  going  dancing,  enjoying  time  with  your  family,  or  simply  resting.  5. Ability to meet Goals: Another,  one  of  the  important  benefits of time management is the ability to meet your goals.  It  is  nearly  impossible  to  meet  your  goals  when  you  fail  to  properly  manage  your  time.  This  is  because  you  never  do  things  in order to achieve the goals you have set for yourself.
